YOUTH IMPACT MINISTRIES NETWORK – ST.KITTS-NEVIS
COMMEMORATES 10th JUBILEE ANNIVERSARY
In its tenth year of operation, the Youth Impact Ministries Network in the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis is proud to host one of the biggest gospel festivals to hit the nation – Jubilee 10, 2K7!
The origin of this biblical festival “Jubilee” that has its foundation in the book of Leviticus 25 was divinely manifested when the vision was birthed in the summer of 1998 on the sister island of Nevis and subsequently during the Christmas season of that same year in St. Kitts. Since that time, this festival has grown in size and quality as hundreds of locals and visitors alike gather each year from across the region to witness a variety of artistes and experience a season of refreshing, renewal and restoration.
Jubileecan be described as a perpetual party celebration of the King of Kings where people from various denominations, countries and walks of life come together in one place to express themselves and glorify God in song, dance, drama, arts and the ministry of the Word. This national festival also attracts youth with a desire to display their talents and indulge in a healthy, holy atmosphere of music, food, fun and fellowship. As a result of this major annual event, many lives have been challenged, touched and transformed as each year the celebration grows.
To mark this milestone achievement of ten years of impacting and restoring the youth across our nation, marketing officials of the network have spared no effort to make this year’s celebration an event long to be remembered. The celebrations will run over a ten-month period from March to December featuring several highlights. These include the production of a Jubilee 10 Picture Calendar, a Jubilee Music Video and a 10th Anniversary Magazine. During the summer period from July 27th to August 5th the two islands will join together in a 10-day Jubilee Mega Fest featuring the first weekend of super concerts in St. Kitts with artistes like Papa San, Lt. Stitchie and Belinda Telemaque and climaxing with the second weekend in Nevis with Prodigal Son, DJ Nicholas and Ayanah. The four days between the week-end concerts will highlight the first ever Kids Jubilee along with a Grand 10th Anniversary Exhibition and Food Fair featuring chefs of the federation.
With a change of venue to the Newtown Sports Stadium and the support of two major stakeholders, Cable & Wireless and the Ministry of Tourism, expectations are high as the stage is set to make Jubilee 10, 2007 the “premier gospel festival” of the federation, and by extension the Caribbean.
On a mission to positively impact and restore the youth of our nations, the Youth Impact Ministries operates a dynamic youth network ministry that focuses on the holistic development of young people in the five major areas: spiritual, physical, moral, social and vocational. As a result, a number of programs and projects are implemented annually to train and equip youth in these areas. Founded in May 1998, the month of May marks the anniversary of the network. Two important events that have been planned for this month of May is a Special 10th Commemorative Anniversary Pledge Service held at the ECCB Auditorium on Sunday 27th May at 4:00 p.m. This formal event, to which a large number of delegates are invited, will be held under the auspices of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister responsible for Youth Affairs. The anniversary month will climax on Thursday May 31st with the observance of the 3rd Annual Mayday National Youth Appeal organized by the network.
Through this medium the executive of the network take this opportunity to express thanks to all stakeholders who have, and who continue to support the vision to impact and restore our nation’s youth.
